Katie Burton's Fundraising Page

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

My name is Katie Burton and I am currently a contestant for Miss World New Zealand 2010.

Part of our commitment to Miss World is to raise money for charity. The charity I am raising money for is Variety for Children, with the money being used to buy insulin pumps for diabetic children. These insulin pumps cost $10,000 each and mean that a child with diabeties doesnt have to inject themself, as the pump automatically regulates their blood sugars, allowing them to enjoy their childhood. A donation no matter how small will make a difference and will be greatly appreciated.

For every $10 donated i will volunteer for an hour in the community, doing things such as reading stories to children in hospital, general assistance in hospitals and retirement homes, spending time assisting non-profit organisations with anything they need doing, the SPCA, picking up rubbish, and anywhere or anything else that you are welcome to suggest :)

100% of the proceeds are going towards giving a 6 year old diabetic girl back her childhood by buying her an insulin pump which will regulate her blood sugars so she doesnt need to inject herself... Give up one coffee or beer to help change a life. :) xoxo
